What do you mean by "free"?, A Service FAQ


We want everyone to feel welcome when bringing their computer in to General NanoSystems.

  If you have any question or issue with your PC - large or small - call us or just stop by!  



"What do you mean by 'free'?" 

At General NanoSystems, when we say "free", we mean free - no charge, zip, zilch, nil, nada, nothing.  A visit with our computer repair technicians will cost you nothing more than your time - and that is almost certainly worth it.

"Do I need an appointment?"

Nope! We offer our customers the flexibility to bring ANY computer into our store at ANY time (within our business hours, Monday-Friday: 9-7, Saturday 10-5.). No appointments necessary.   

"What do I need to bring in with my computer?"

Typically, you shouldn't need to bring anything but the tower itself (or laptop).  We have monitors, keyboards, mice and an array of peripheral devices set up and available to service you.  If you are having an issue WITH a specific peripheral (such as a monitor or mouse), this is an exception.  Bring the problematic device with you.


"What is the diagnostic process?"
When you walk through our door, you'll be greeted by a salesperson or technician who will spend a few minutes listening to you and assessing your computer's needs.  If you have the time (usually no more than 10-30 minutes), we'll execute a few basic tests to rule out primary issues.  Most issues can be positively identified though this immediate diagnostic process.  Any system can be checked in for our full, extended diagnostic process - which is also free of charge.

"How long is that going to take?"

If the issue is repairable, the technician will provide you with a quote.  Some repairs can be completed right there - on the spot.  Others require more time or a highly specialized process. If there is any question of your system's health, the tech may recommend checking the computer in for a full scan.  This service STILL FREE, but may take a few days.  When this is necessary, you'll receive a phone call when the diagnostic process is complete and provided at that point with a recommendation for repair.  Turn-around time is dependent on the necessary repair.
